What do you do at Mid-Cities?

Currently I serve as one of our pastor’s dedicated to developing adult ministries at Mid-Cities. I oversee EQUIP which offers adult studies designed to help mature adult believers in every area of their lives. I also oversee Freedom Ministries which provides teaching, training, and ministry designed to help believers discover the healing and freedom that is available in Christ. In addition, I oversee our ministry and outreach to single adults.

When did you feel called to ministry?

I grew up in Amarillo, Texas and committed my life to Christ when I was 24 years old. I felt called into full time ministry when I was 28. I began full time ministry as a campus minister in southeastern Oklahoma, but soon moved to Midland to serve as a singles minister in a large Church of Christ.

When and why did you choose Mid-Cities?

I served in that church for 20 years and through the years took on the responsibilities of serving as pastor over small groups, families, and counseling. Throughout my years of ministry, God placed a hunger in my heart to serve in a church where the Holy Spirit had free reign to move. In 2003, Pastor Kevin York invited me to serve on the staff at Mid-Cities. The excitement I saw at Mid-Cities about what God was doing in the lives of his people and the invitation for God’s Spirit to move has He determined drew me to this church, I have never regretted the decision to serve here.

What are you most excited about when it comes to your specific area of ministry? I love serving in these areas because I get to see radical life change occur in the lives of God’s people on a daily basis as the power of the Holy Spirit gives revelation, healing and freedom to these individuals.

Who are you, really?

I am married to Susan who teaches at Fannin Elementary school in Midland. But more than that, she partners with me in ministry and has great gifts in teaching, counsel, and prophecy. We are empty nesters with grown children living in other parts of the country. In our free time, we love to travel. I enjoy playing really bad golf, reading, writing, and fishing when I can get to the mountains. My wife is an avid reader and an artist.
