Our Staff
When did you feel called to ministry?
I was in high school when I knew God had specifically called me into ministry. That calling was confirmed in college as I volunteered in youth minstry and was eventually brought on staff full time at Trinity Church in Lubbock, TX.
When and why did you choose Mid-Cities?
In 2002, I met with Kevin York, who was the Senior Pastor at Mid-Cities. We talked about God and Youth Ministry. Several months later, I joined the Mid-Cities staff as the youth pastor, and soon my responsibilities were expanded to include children’s ministry. In 2006, I became Senior Pastor. Kayla and I love the people of Mid-Cities; and we are grateful to serve Jesus with this congregation.
What are you most excited about when it comes to your specific area of ministry?
Seeing people come to faith in Jesus, watching families grow spiritually, observing leaders step into higher roles of leadership and fulfill their God given purpose.
What do you do at Mid-Cities?
My responsibility at Mid-Cities is to lead the staff, elders, and congregation to be a people that accomplish God’s vision for Mid-Cities Community Church. The primary ways I do this are through vision casting, teaching, and leadership development.
Who are you, really?
I love spending time with my family and friends. I like to read, watch college football & basketball, cook, and hunt. I like to discuss business issues and I am undefeated in trial law (I successfully defended a ticket one time).
